Tracking your File Across the Web
Where is your Flash file? It might be nice to know.
There are a few good ways to figure out where your Flash file is living. Luckily, there are several ways to do it, regardless of if your file has been published or not.
Use Mochibot to track
Mochibot is a free web-tracking service, that will allow you to follow your Flash file across the web. It works very well, and only requires a few changes to your Flash file. It will then record everywhere the Flash file travels, right down to the direct domains. It will also track your traffic, which is also a nice option. You can use this data to see how traffic flows to your website. You can only benefit from Mochibot if you have not published your swf file to the web yet, because Mochibot requires you to edit your file.
Using your Web Traffic to Track
All website hosting has a statistics tracking program built in. If you follow where websites are linking you to, you can find out where your links are coming from. Obviously, it makes sense that this would only work if you have a website link from your flash to your website.
Otherwise, you can make a google search for your file. |
